イラストレーター前田麦さんのリボンでできた動物モチーフの立体作品「Ribbonesia」プロジェクトのロゴ、プロモーションキット、ウェブサイトなどグラフィックを担当させていただきました。ロゴはもちろんリボンがモチーフ、Ribbonesiaという架空の世界の紋章をイメージしたもの。デザインを進めるに当たり、作品そのものの強烈な個性を生かしつつ、どういう世界観をつくるかということが課題でした。最終的にはリボンという有機的で曲線的なイメージと、動物のいる世界や自然のイメージなどをエッセンスとして盛り込みながらも、あまりに世界観を作り込みすぎず、今後の展開次第でどこへでも進むことができるようニュートラルな世界観に至りました。今後どういうかたちでこの動物たちがその世界を広げていくのかが楽しみです。
最初に麦さんがたくさんリボンを持って事務所にやってきて、これでなんかつくってみないかと言われて一緒にやってみたんですが、自分はほんの15分ほどで形にならずあきらめてしまいました。数週間後、麦さんがプロトタイプを持ってきた時にはもうすでに原型ができていて、試行錯誤しながら形にするところまでやりきった麦さんにすごく感動・感心したのを覚えています。そして、まさかこんなたくさんの動物たちができあがるとは思ってもいませんでした。新しいモノを作り出す時にはやはり一筋縄ではいかないモノ。ここにあるたくさんの動物たちは、麦さんのアイデアとそれを形にしたいという情熱のたまものなのです。そして、このプロジェクトは、麦さんが最初にリボンを持ってきてから約2年を掛けて少しづつ作り上げてきたもの、これからも大事に育てていけるといいなぁと思っています。
Illustrator Baku Maeda’s project “Ribbonesia”started. We designed the brand Logo, promotion kit and web site.Brand logo’s motif is ofcourse Ribbon. The brand logo design image was from fictional world “Ribbonesia”’s heraldic emblem. when designed this, the most challenging was don’t loose strong product’s individual impact and how make up Ribbonesia world. In the end we decided to make neutral image.then the project can do anything. I look forward to how it will be expanding in the future.
Fist time when Baku brought lot of ribbons to my office and said to me “I want create something by this” was 2years ago since then He tried really hard and became like this now. I didn’t expected so many animals would be created by his hand. When create something new, be never easy. Things in here were born by his ideas and his strong passion. It takes long time but we want make it expand little by little.
